Residents at Riverlands in the Swartland Municipality on the Cape West Coast are evacuating their homes and loved ones to safety again.

This, as wide-scale flooding is hitting the area following an attempt to drain the fourth dam via new spillway, apparently failed.

Our reporter Mariska Botha is at the scene.

This was natural disaster caused by too much rain & farm dams bursting their banks. Residents are without clean water & electricity. Water from these dams was used for crops & livestock & full impact of this loss will be felt in coming summer months. Its terrible situation. Kudos to Gift of Givers for quick response.
