A Russian-born man and a Ukrainian lady married at Dharamshala and encouraged Russia and Ukraine to "make love, not war." Alona Burmaka, 28, and Sergey Novikov, 37, a Russian-born Israeli, registered their marriage in Dharamshala on Monday. Hindu wedding ceremonies were done a month ago. After being married, they told the media: Make love, not war. "Israelis and Ukrainians. Our six-year relationship began in Israel.
We arrived in India a year ago and believed that Dharamshala was a wonderful site to get married in the Hindu tradition and culture. This message is for Russia, Ukraine, and Hindus. Russia and Ukraine were brothers once. Love, not conflict. Violence isn't good; it's simply governments warring.
Stop it! "Bridegroom Sergey Novikov exclaimed. Donetsk and Luhansk asked Russia's aid in protecting themselves on February 24. The Russian Defense Ministry stated the operation targets Ukrainian military installations and not civilians.
"I met Sergey in Israel and we have been together for almost six years. When we came to India, we decided to marry, to connect our souls. We like India and its culture like — it`s very deep, nice, lovely," said Alona Burmaka, the bride.
SDM Dharamshala Shilp Bekta granted them a marriage certificate. According to Bekta, 40% of foreigners' weddings in Dharamshala are registered under the Special Marriage Act.
