I've been applying since 2019 and only recently did I experience any sort of response. Spoiler alert, no I don't have a housing lottery apartment, I haven't been picked..yet, this video is all about what happens leading up to getting contacted. Have you applied? so i don’t live in new york but i agree with the apply and let it go part!! i applied for housing 3 years ago and just heard back from them a few weeks ago. my mom was just telling me i should apply and i was like, “i already did lol. i’m like number four thousand something on the list the last time i checked.” then boom .. not long after that, they sent me an email!

Hi, I applied for many affordable housing apartments via Housing Connect. I was contacted for an apartment in Greenpoint Brooklyn. They requested a sh*t load of documents. I uploaded all documents via Housing Connect online and was given the option to go see the apartment, I was fortunate enough to see 2 apartments. After the viewing I emailed the management agent the apartment I was interested in. More documents were requested.. I electronically gave consent to have my credit checked and I am now waiting to see if HPD is going to approve my application. I was informed that there is a back log and that process can take up to 30-60 days. The waiting begins....

Hi Kimberlee, I was applying for a time since it originated in newspapers and then went online. LOL
I was determined to move out last year since I was in my Studio for ten years. My development didn't want to give me a 1 bedroom since I didn't have any kids. (remind you I'm 37) Over time, I will get letters stating I made too much at the time or I don't make enough for that development. Then, I recieved emails stating I was placed on the waiting list for each borough.
Like 2 in the city, 3 in Brooklyn, 1 Bronx. Last year, I was contacted for 2 in my neighborhood. I've been in my current lottery apt for 8 months now.

Heyyyy so I’m in the waiting process for the last step…. I had to upload my documents and then the leasing agent sent another email about a few days later asking for more documents to be sent in…. I saw 3 apartments and I chose one. Now I’m waiting for approval from HPD

Hey Happy New Year, I’m in the same space as you. Been applying for 2 years now. Never got chosen the lowest log number I’ve gotten was in the 2, 000s but I didn’t get picked yet. Praying and manifesting that for the new year I get that email saying I’ve been chosen.

born and raised in nyc, have sent out over 700 applications the last 6 years aha. i had finally gotten called back for one and got log number 82! been a lot of back and forth with submitting documents the last 6 months but i finally got invited to view apartments. Now they say im just waiting to receive documents to sign and then the lease. I'm so close it makes me really excited to finally have it work out but until i sign that lease and move in nothing is guaranteed and even now it's still possible that i don't get it and its making me anxious. but im trying to stay calm and patient and positive that it'll work out!

Applied 1/9. Lottery closed 2/7. Got a email 3/6 with a 1700 log number. Now its under review.

Omg I got an email saying to submit my documents, and then I got another email saying they got my documents, and I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for my case to be updated

I think affordable housing should be available for all, 6 figures does not go far in NYC unless its above 200k..

I moved into my first lottery apt in 2021in a beautiful building Got email this week to submit my paperwork. For another beautiful building It’s called “affordable housing”. Not low income housing. They don’t ask for documents you should not already have. Also the process may move QUICK. MEANING. You need to have 1st month rent/ security deposit. Your log number may be 1000, 996 may not have documents or down payment. Your video is a tool everyone needs to watch. Then Watch it again!
