Dr. Yamuna Sangarasivam, a girl who did a traditional Indian Odissi dance with Michael Jackson in his song black or white. The song is from MJ's Dangerous album , released in 1991.
Yamuna is a Srilankan, migrated to US at the age of nine. Now she is working in Nazareth College as Anthropology professor and director of the women and gender studies.
Yamuna was selected from three thousand other dancers, who also auditioned for the song. Her duet with Michael was shot about two hours at Los Angeles expressway and during the dance session the highway was entirely shut down.
