Thank you for video! Was in the market for an SL6, but live and ride hills. I really need a 46T or so for fast downhills. Summit Bicycles SF South Bay had a sale so I got an SL7 in size 56 and changed to longer stem for comfort riding drops. SRAM derailleurs flawless. 30/43T double just coast when hit max speed very high cadence downhill. 700x40mm tubeless 50psi tires are cushy and very stable for most sufaces. Very comfortable riding hoods, great climber. Great for old broken overgrown roadways/ railroad tracks shipyards, bases, hilly islands. Where I am at most gravel seem to be around bird sanctuaries, nesting areas, so no Bbicycles allowed. Good for packed dirt and fire roads.

Love the deep red color, like a blood red on this bike.

Beware of the recommended trek sizes which are completely wrong .... you have to take at least one size smaller. Example, for 1.80m trek recommends 56 or 58 but 56 is already big for most people 1.80m tall, from experience I see it more for those who are 1.81 to 1.84 tall. I have a trek emonda size 56 and I had to change the handlebar because it is too long (reach) and the saddle can only be lowered up to 74 cm and I usually pedal at 73.5 ... if I went back I would have taken a 54

My wrists hurt just looking at that hood setup--straight out of the 80s. I look forward to a comparison between this and the new Fezzari Shafer.

Seems like a contender against the Specialized Diverges, except it doesn't seem to have any suspension up front that mitigates wrist nerve damage.

Sounds like he is just reading from the press release they gave him. Lol

This bike is the emonda, domane and old checkpoint all married together. Perhaps a decent do it all bike too?

I keep doing these local rides on my gravel bike, and always, or almost always wish I had my dual suspended XC bike instead.
Rather its miles of washboard gravel road, or a rocky creekbed, or the long super fast rough downhill with some XC bike isnt really much slower climbing, is way easier on my body on any bump...and absolutely smokes any gravel bike on fast roughish downhills....the group I ride with will ride their gravel bikes no matter the terrain. I dont like the abuse the non suspended bikes dish out. Some put big 2.0 or bigger tires on a gravel bike, may as well ride a mt bike.

Someone needs to tell Trek that tweaking the seat and head tube angles a bit here and there doesn’t create a size run…in their case, it just creates 6 variations of a medium🙄

How does this compare to Giant’s Revolt anyone ridden both?

According to Trek's sizing guide I would need a 61 for this bike. I'm wondering if I should size down since I usually ride size 58 bikes.

That's a nice looking bike with a smoking paint job.

A 28" tire with 622x40mm has an outer diameter of 710mm. A fat 2.1" 650B tire 584x55mm has an outer diameter of 700mm. The difference is 10mm or 1 cm. I rather doubt anyone would notice that tiny difference. Use a 2.2" tire and you have the same outer diameter, but a plush MTB ride.
