Delaware's Sarah McBride responds to legislation regarding trans women's bathroom use at Capitol

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina introduced legislation Monday to change House rules to prohibit transgender women from using women's bathrooms and other facilities on Capitol Hill, a proposal that comes just before the House prepares to swear-in the first openly transgender member of Congress.

They keep trying to push that there are a lot of bigger problems like the housing prices and health care but that takes a long time to fix, so are they saying that we need to wait before those are fixed before resolving the small problems? Just a reminder its only small now but the longer they aren't resolved the bigger it will grow until even they become a hard problem.

Nothing against trans. People can be who they want to be. But they need to use unisex bathrooms. Biological man should use men’s bathroom.

This is not to be taken personally. There are people out there who do not have her values. There have been instances where women and girls have been attacked in restrooms. I understand she is not a threat, but there are people out there that are dangerous.

I applaud her for compliance with the ruling although I don't think it is fair. In this day and age we have to think about everyone's safety.

Let's concentrate on the real issues.

I respect Sarah's response. Mcbride will adhere to the policies and the ban. She said she is there to fight for Delaware and their needs and not there to be a spokesperson for a movement. Each Representative have their own restrooms in their quarters.
