I came here when this song first came out but never commented. It helped me with anger towards my father. I never fully grasped the lyrics—Dutch is not a language I speak or comprehend at any fluency, though I once wanted to learn the language—as a now 32 year old woman, and seeing updated comments with translated lyrics, I really feel this song. And then after watching the vlog Glennis shared about her dad (it was in Dutch; I pieced together that her dad became ill and passed away), really made me appreciate my dad even more. Our relationship is genuinely improving after another falling out in 2019, then I reconnected with him late last year (2022).
