An Anti-Hero is more about a guy or girl going out and doing things for his or her own personal gain, but just so happens that its also doing a service to society as well but just by coincidence. The Punisher is a good example of an Anti- Hero, or V for Vendetta.

...uhm. The fighting your inner demon thing is not even remotely a close definition of anti-hero. You could say that about all characters going through personal character arcs. Anti-heroes have grey to black moralities, do some pretty terrible things or are deeply, deeply flawed, and are often basically the opposite of likable or even good most of the time.

And you picked abused victims as anti-heroes? Picking Melinda from Speak and Dave from A Child Called It is very strange. And you really shouldn't imply that them not reporting the people who hurt them is somehow a negative. Like, no rape victim should be pressured into reporting her abuser. Yes, Melinda in the book had to speak out because it was eating away at her, but that's not the case for all victims. For some, the process of reporting their rapes is just as traumatic as the attack itself.

I don't really know about Katniss. She's not 100% a great person, but I don't think her PTSD makes her an anti-hero. She was still a good person in the end, still made the right choices given her circumstances.

Haven't read the other two books, so I guess I don't have any opinions there.
