As the Tokyo Olympics wrap up, Team Canada leaves Japan on a historic high note, with more medals than any other non-boycotted Summer Games. Crystal Goomansingh looks back at an Olympics like no other, while Julia Foy reports on how the next generation of Olympians have raised the bar.

Meanwhile, communities in British Columbia continue to be devastated by raging wildfires ripping through the Okanagan region. As Emad Agahi reports, some residents are furious, claiming the provincial government ignored early warnings.

After being closed to non-essential travel for over a year, the Canada-U.S. border is finally set to reopen on Monday, allowing fully vaccinated Americans and permanent residents to cross over for pleasure trips. Seán O'Shea reports on what that means for some of Canada's border towns.

But the United States itself is sinking deeper into its fourth wave of COVID-19, sparking fears for tourism and cross-border travel. Hospitals are already being overwhelmed by unvaccinated patients. As Reggie Cecchini reports, the world is starting to take notice, raising doubts on easing travel restrictions for vaccinated Americans.

There are also concerns that a fourth wave of COVID-19 in Canada will hit unvaccinated kids hard when they return to school. As Heather Yourex-West reports, kids under 12 are still ineligible to be vaccinated here in the country.

Plus, Canada's political parties are preparing for a federal election to be called any day now, but how do voters feel about heading to the polls during a pandemic? Mike Le Couteur checks the temperature.

People have gotten too used to the world coming to fight and die for them. If Afghanistan really cared about freedom they could have had a mass volunteering for the military to be trained and armed by the US and Canada. Some times you have to fight for your country and your freedom.

Ask yourself why are all allowing Canada to win those metals. Tokyo and Japan probably got most of the athletic most and highly discipline . I don't know I've always questioned everything and learned through various life experiences you know I think everyone including kids lie they are so dishonest even after the fact they cannot lie to me I'll know still try like they think in stupid. Took awhile to learn that. But the kids lie because their parents do like that saying by grandma used to hang "monkey see monkey do" I don't think that applies when one is truthful and working hard to help someone other than them
