A Conversation with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel

On February 27, the Metropolitan Policy Program at Brookings hosted a conversation with Mayor Emanuel. The mayor talked about a broad range of issues, including Chicago's newly announced Digital Manufacturing and Design Lab and strategies to improve neighborhood schools, reduce youth violence, and rebuild infrastructure.

Let's make sure that there is certain path we take in Chicago, when it comes to qualifications. Training matters and untrained employees shall not occupy positions they are not qualified for. Chicago produces many talented individuals who end up either on Forbes list or become future politicians and many more. If we were a bit more organized with making sure that employees working for corporations follow basic regulations and laws, then we can all prosper in a long run and stay in Chicago. You probably do not want to see a person with over 10 years of corporate Experience working at a restaurant! Experience matter after all. In any case, you can't explain that to some Chicagoans that feel comfortable in their shoes, cause these were not the voters, the voters were those who seek changes and participate in things. Most Chicagoans have an excuse that they are overly depressed, so could care less about the rising poverty levels, that comes from indifference. I mean, as long as it is not me, then there must have been some discrimination going on, that turned into Corruption. In any case, Corruption rules Chicago, and it has become unbearable for some to stay in the city despite all the things it has to offer, including Chicagoans....I mean how many people enjoy their lives elsewhere that are originally from Chicago? Go Cubs, Go public schools... We certainly need public funds for Chicago, and state employees are being torn apart handling more than what their job requirement is. I think Obama building his statue for 500 million will humiliate any Chicagoans living in the city! Can you build your stuff in California where I am sure you are more welcome along with the rest of the celebrities with fake teeth?

He is trying to turn my old school into a military school, which ticked me off a lot.
