I like Kelly in this period (s1/2). We consider her as an arrogant and superficial girl, and we quickly understand that this apparent superficiality is her weapon to fight against a very difficult daily life. The writers lost the character a bit when they wanted to create this love triangle with Dylan. It's a shame because before that, we had a real Brenda/Kelly dynamic with each girl having her own territory.

Typically, here, it's interesting: we have a worried, warm and passionate Brenda. And next to it, a colder and harsher Kelly, but who also has excellent expertise in the situation in which Dylan finds himself. I would have liked the series to retain this beautiful complementary duality between the two girls rather than having them fight for the same boy.

Yeah, right! Soulmates! They had no chimestry and Dylan hardly looked at Kelly! It seemed like he didn't really stand her and only had eyes for Brenda... That is why the triangle and eventually his "choosing Kelly" is evidently so forced because of making Shannen apart.

My favorite response that cemented Dylan as the greatest tv character imho was when Brandon asks him " Dylan how long you're gonna keep this up" and he responds " till i'm numb till i forget where i'am and why i came here in the first place" lol . That was reallly funny:)
