Audi S3 review - The Audi Experience Part 1!

After driving / reviewing Ford's for a while now, I thought I would broaden my horizons a little by trying some vehicles from the Audi brand, starting with the Audi S3 Saloon!

No question the Audi S3 is a classy product. Wonderful interior. Refined drive and plenty quick. Newer, but similar to my 2011 VW Golf R with the DSG gearbox. Right now, I'm very much enjoying the the greater engagement that the Focus RS driving experience delivers.

Even my humble 2008 A3 TDI is very refined and without doubt the best car I've owned. I think you can understand why I'm tempted to pitch the S1 against the ST now mate?

Having had Audi before my RS Focus (inc a 2010 S4) I totally agree with your review. I came very close to getting an S3 a couple of years back but opted for the larger A5 Sportback 230ps TFSi (saved £8000 on the RRP as it was a run-out model). I also needed more headroom than the S3 offers.
The dealer experience at Ford both in sales and service just doesn't come close to Audi.
The whole Audi ownership experience and quality and comfort is something I do miss so I may jump back into an S4/S5 if the right spec turns ups.
I recommend you try the latest S4/S5 because the interior is a big step up from the 3 range and the engine is a peach.

Nice review Gary, just the thing I'm after. I've got a 2 litre Audi TDi on contract at the moment. It finishes this time next year. Plan to replace it with a Focus RS (hence my subscription to your channel). However, an S3 or RS3 might turn my Any thoughts on test driving an A45?

I had an S3 sedan and sold it and replaced it with an RS3 sedan. Here's the thing. I live inner city and the S3 is a better daily for in and around city even long trips brilliant car. RS3 is a beast but not good for a daily . Im actually selling mine. Will buy an S3 in 2021 when next gen gets released.

Love everything about the car! Great video but I’m flabbergasted that Audi didn’t give you a S3 with all the extras - tech pack for instance. To showcase this car the optional sport seats is and are a must in this car.

The New S3 hatch back is quicker than the Ford RS mate.But they are different experiences of performance.My TTs is the same the power Is is there all thought the rev range.I use the stick to shift and sometimes the paddles.use the auto mode in traffic mate.The interiors in these Audi’s are first class mate.You think that’s quick try the S3 hatch, TTs and RS mate.Great video Good review 🏁😊🍻

Did you know my TTS at nearly 10 years old has the same launch control too!! 😎 I've started using the paddles on mine....and love it even more pretty much can't get a better auto than a DSG....I think they are fab!!
