Jeongyeon or others didn’t mess up the vocals, they couldn’t hear themselves over the piped in music, lack of acoustics, and poor mixing board performance. All of which greatly improved with their second song. Notice they were wearing earpiece mics, which greatly improved their performance.

They obviously aren't used to how the US do camera cues as they all seem to be looking for the one filming them. That said, in Korea, usually the camera staff and directors are familar with the song and who's singing so the artist doesn't have to actively search for cameras. The US staff are just kinda shooting on the fly. "Who's singing now?" kinda thing.
