The memories that have just flooded back from when I was a cocky young disc jockey thinking old age would pass me buy has brought tears to my eyes. This song breaks my heart. The lyrics speak for me in any event. I lost in May my beloved husband after 21 years of happy marriage. We used to enjoy twice the Christmas time as on 24th - Christmas Eve was his birthday also. This year I spent Christmas alone, looking at our pictures from previous years when we were together and happy. Indeed, my tears could melt a mountain of snow.😢

I lost my Dad in December 2013 and my Mum in September 2023. This will be my first Christmas without either of parents. I remember hearing this song growing up but it really hits home now 💔😪

Fantastic emotions, tears and all, my wife of 50+ years died very suddenly at the end of September 2024. It will be lonely this Christmas, lonely and cold without her to hold. Please tell those you love how strong that is while you can, hold their hand, my wife died holding mine - we had held hands throughout the years since 10 th January 1968. I love Mud they make really good songs and are good to watch, l love this song it is very sad and Les sings it lovely, he does sound a lot like Elvis, he has a great voice and is very handsome as is the other guys, Great group, miss you, wish l could turn back the clock when you and all the other groups were around, the 50, s, 60,s and 70, s were the best years . This song came out in 1974 reached number 1 here in the UK, so this is nearly 50 years old and still to this day it's a song that make you think, pitty nothing now days comes close
