I watched the whole game, 2002. I was excited to watch it. I remember sitting down and was hoping Brazil to win, and they did. I miss those days! Wow, I can't believe now we are 2021

Such wonderful memories. I cried in 98 final. I had waited Ronaldo to recover for years. And he won the greatest stage in football! The World Cup. True phenomenon! Greatest player of all time. Because he fought back, 3 serious injuries n came back stronger.

I'm from Germany and I can remember this game. I was 8 years old and Kahn was my idol.

He was just unbeatable in this Tournament before this game, he hold EVERY ball against usa or south korea and he was the reason why germany was in this final. (especially vs. USA, can you Show that, fifa YouTube team. It is a furious game with the best team USA has had)

I can remember, everybody expected in germany that brazil would win because the german team was at this time (compare to today) a junk team. We qualify in relegation and the Tournaments before they didnt played well. Nobody expected anything. Everybody in this team grew beyond oneself.

I knew we would win, in my 8 years old imagination Kahn was unbeatable and this moment when kahn slipped that ball at the first goal, my dreams were destroyed. :D

But this experience is the reason why i played football in my childhood and why I watch football every week. (and play too many football video games :D)

I congratulate brazil, thry deserved it and Ronaldo was one of the greatest striker in history. But as a kid I maybe hated you at this moment til 2014 :D

wow I was in middle school when I was watching this match, that ball has forever been one of my favs World Cup collections.

It was funny, Brazil even went into the tournament as outsiders. Their qualification was very difficult. It's crazy to think about it afterwards considering the key players they had. Argentina and France were the big favourites to win the tournament but they couldn't survive their groups.
Early 2000s was a great football era. I remember star players were better spread amongst countries and leagues, and there were plenty of surprises along the way. It was fun. And smaller clubs also managed to have a star playmaker. Overall, I prefer the 2000s over the 2010s which was all about Messi, CR7, and a handful of top clubs.
