They have dark blue and golden auras because of two new pseudo elements, Ousia(dark blue) and Pneuma (golden/yellow).

The aura around their orb actually indicates which Arkhe they’re aligned with, hence the golden aura being Pneuma and the blue-ish-purple one being Ousia

Hydro Traveler currently has Pneuma Arkhe, along with Lyney.
After 3 weeks, Freminet will be added with Pneuma Arkhe.
Only Lynette instead has Ousia Arkhe.

Only those with Arkhes (Pneumousia) can do this, which means all current and future Fontaine characters including the traveller since he deals Pneuma with this skill.
The blue orb beside your character is the "blessing" that you get for touching the fontaine statue for the first time. It's what gives us the ability to dive and to not drown underwater thanks to aquatic stamina. Depending on your character's arkhe type, the orb gets 'coated' with a color indicator.

If you notice the craftable weapons such as the "finale of the deep" sword has a different look with fontaine characters such as lynette, the droplet at the sword will have a dark aura, while non-fontaine characters will have nothing at all appearing at the sword.

anyways dolphin is a aquatic mammal not a fish so kokomi is like a fish

I think the aura isn't because of the rarity but because Lyney and Traveler Arkhe type is pneuma while Lynette is ousia which perfectly explains the light and dark.

That orb doesn't indicate if it can or cannot dolphin jump, rather, it indicates what type of Arkhe that the character have. And one thing, only Fontaine characters can dolphin jump
