This war could have been avoided had Russia's genuine security concerns regarding NATO's expansion eastwards been addressed. However, the US was more concerned about using Ukraine to weaken Russia as the US Secretary of Defence made clear. Anyone who ever thought that Russia would not ultimately prevail knows little about history.

It has zero chance of succeeding for the simple fact that Russia is not invited so how can you call for an end of a conflict but you don’t invite both sides. Second Zelenskyy demands are unrealistic and completely ignore what’s happening on the ground him expecting Russia to give back the territories they’ve captured, give back Crimea and expect Russia to pay for the damages of the war is something they would never accept for the simple fact that their clearly winning and have all the leverage.
