What I always love about the House of Velour's is that it foregrounds and showcases other drag queens with elegance and reverence. Sasha Velour doesn't ever feel obligated to put herself at the centre of the piece, or brand everything. Velour is a style more than a brand, and that style is glorious. In a sea of people shouting, 'look at me, look at me', I really cherish that Sasha is saying, 'look at them, look at this'.

As a young queer person, this is so insightful, every day I find it hard to be queer, but the more I learn the more I realized how beautiful being queer really is.

Imagine tho, sasha someday will be one of these drag legacy and the future generations will acknowledge all her contribution for the lgbtq+ community just like what she's doing now 💕

OMG, I never thought that Chinese Opera or Xiqi would be mentioned. A famous movie 'Farewell my Concubine' about the art form is made in the 90s and I think it is still one of my favotite movies, partly because my father also a performer in Xiqi so I think of him whenever I watch it. Thank you for such beautiful and informative doc.

This needs to be a fully realised mini-series, it would win every Emmy category. Teach the children!

Give it up for Sasha Velour!

Thanks for this wonderful trip through our Queer history. Terms and identities may change over the centuries, but Queerness is a core part of humanity and needs expression.

I love that this is her response to the ignorance spewed recently on casting a woman on drag race she's like "Educate yourselves fools"

A thinking queen speaks to the heart.
She's stranger than fiction, better than art.

The Takarazuka revue is probably one of the most mainstream modern instances of drag kingdom in Asia too! Wonderful series <3
