So in an "emergency", you pay someone to take away basic services. Brilliant.

Remember this the next time you hear someone say that we have too much spending and regulation.

The negligence on the local/state level is borderline criminal.

I live in Flint and I experienced this first hand. My elderly mother drank the water and my young niece drank the water. We were told that because of the lead levels in her blood, she would now have learning disabilities and a lower IQ among other things. What isn't told in this video is that many residents in flint live in poverty and can't afford to replace filters that go bad after a few months. Even though we are on Detroit water now, lead still seeps from the pipes and gets into the water. It is 2017 now, and all of the cities old pipes still have not been replaced. Flint schools were already some of the worst in the entire state, and now with this problem, children require even more attention then before. This was not the cities' fault at all, our governor pretty much forced the switch just to save a few million dollars. There has been some improvements, but just because the media isn't covering it anymore, doesn't mean the problem is completely gone.

This is what happens when you put a dollar value on everything. Basic clean drinking water not available in a US city, that's how far we have fallen, this is some 3rd world shit.
Shit is crazy.

Typical denial that there's a problem. People found lead and they blame the people's plumbing. Well, the mayor should let his children drink the very water to prove it's safe. They should make these rich politicians and their family live where the people live, consume what they consume.

Remember this video next time the Gov tells you something is safe when it seems it isn't. Scary.

Wait, so they were just pumping water directly from the river into people's homes?!?!

Yet the city sure found money to give themselves raises and hire more cops.

As always, great video. Shame stuff like this happens in the world's "wealthiest" country.

Poor children that got the lead poisoning becouse of it, though I can understand they were trying to save up money, this was a realy horrible choice they made.

I watched an in depth documentary on this, and something that shocked me was the exact amount of lead in the water at the Walter's house, also known as "Ground Zero". Safe lead levels is 15 parts per billion (ppb) or below. Above 5, 000 ppb is considered hazardous. Ground Zero had over 150, 000 ppb of lead in their water. Their children couldn't even bathe in the water without extreme agony and rashes. It's ridiculous

why don't the government stop sending hundreds of millions every month to the Middle East, and help its people first.

terrible and sad. flint will be totally bankrupt by the time its all said and done and the residents have every right to sue.
