i did this just then and it works! which is great but i did not have any incense stick at hand so what i did is got a large fizzy drink bottle the top off to create a funnel, then used a firestarter cube and let it burn for say 30 secs. i then blew it out and put the larger end of the funnel we made earlier over the cube and cconnected the small end of the funnel to the open end of the smoke ring maker. just hold it there until the bottle is full of smoke. this also works with candles and other sorts but not with as much success. hope this helped ☺

You can just leave the bottle as normal and squeeze it instead. Works great.
