“Platinum could easily rise 50% to 100% in 12-18 months,” says portfolio manager Sam Broom in this MSE episode. He is also bullish on certain rare earth companies and has his eye on potash as a contrarian play.

Sam Broom is a geologically trained portfolio manager with Sprott Global. In this interview, he provides commentary on where he sees value in the resource sector and how he is advising his clients. Generalist institutions are becoming interested in mining stocks, he shares. Sam also compares the ASX mining market to the TSX and explains why less US dollars are flowing into small Canadian miners.

As always, a great analysis. Newcomers often wonder if it's too late to navigate the financial market, but the market is always unpredictable. Trading has more advantages than simply holding, so it's important to learn before diving in. Active trades are necessary to ride the market's waves. Thanks to Linda Wilburn’s insights, daily trade signals, and my dedication to learning, I've been increasing my daily earnings, managed to grow a nest egg of around 127k to a decent 732k. Kudos to the journey ahead!

Thanks Men!! Great discussion.

Endorsement: Sam has been my Sprott broker for several years. He's a terrific partner in helping me identify the best opportunities in the natural resource sector and keeping me out of bad ones. Sam's experience as a geo helps me understand that part of the analysis, which I more than struggle with. Sam is a super straight shooter; a highly ethical person that I am glad to have on my team.

An enjoyable conversation gentlemen.
The coverage of platinum is appreciated. I do hope that Sprott might provide a physical trust for palladium and platinum separately.
SPPP is a challenge with the ting and yang dance of the two components.

As an Australian-Canadian speculating/invested in ASX and TSXV resources companies, I find the comparisons interesting and accurate.

In regards to platinum's South Africa problem, there are some explorers with interesting platinum resources in Australia, of which I like Podium Minerals the most (and got some shares). There are many other deposits with platinum in WA, so this might be an interesting play for a platinum bull market.

If you ever submitted your picks to Rick Rule's "free" rankings, this is the salesman that contacted you later.

For me platinum is uninvestable, don't trust ETCs, don't trust storage companies, not going to store physical in my home. The only miner I know is in South Africa which is one of few countries I would avoid . Hell I'd invest in Congo before South Africa.
