How To Write A Mysterious Powers (Hidan)

Показать описание
Hidan is the Akatsuki member with the most mysterious powers. He is completely immortal, and can transfer wounds back to the targe with his strange ritual. People may think Hidan answers to a God called Jashin, the one he prays for. However, it's not that simple. Hidan's abilities are the weirdest in the Naruto series, they don't have a proper explanation, and yet, he is terrifying and a great character.

Hidan vs Asuma, and Hidan vs Shikamaru are great fights thta further the characters and the themes of the story. Today let's explore why Hidan's power set is so effective and scary.

Orochimaru joins the Akatsuki to further his pursuit of immortality. Hidan rolls up and Orochimaru is just like "im'a pretend I didn't see that". Like wtf Orohimaru

My theory is that Hidan’s immortality is some kind of sealing jutsu that binds his soul to his body not matter what happens to it.

Hidan's power never fully being explained at all made it much creepier and better. He is extremely well-written. Tho I do agree that him starving down there would be stupid bc suffering from his power he previously considered a blessing would add on to everything.

In Akatsuki Hiden (The lightnovel) Hidan had a little backstory that explained a little bit about Jashinism. The extra details we got (simplified) is that if you kill all your neighbors or people that or close to you and make sacrafices to lord Jashin you will get "Jashin's blessing" which isn't always immortality. In Boruto they had a vodo doll that would inflict dammage done to it instead. There was some other stories in there but i belive thats all the important info we get on Jashinism which is a shame because there are still so many more questions to be answered

Jashin was immortal
Sasori was immortal
Kakuzu was immortal

Orochimaru just thought their versions of immortality was trash because there were no snakes involved

Hidan had one of my favorite death scenes I love how cold Shikamaru was to him saying how he was his god now

My head cannon is that jashin was a powerful otsutsuki that visited the Shinobi world a long time ago and only revealed himself to a certain few, and compelled them to commit human sacrifice to him as a sorta cruel trickster God kinda thing.

Imagine if, instead of introducing Kaguya and making the Otsostuki the main villains for Boruto, the church of Jashin was the main threat. A small, but terrifying army of immortal cultists that went around killing for their god. There's a LOT of potential in that.

I think that he randomly discovered this ability/was born with it and when he found out how it works, it felt natural for him that this power was given by a god since it doesn't look like a jutsu. Since this ability allowed him to kill people, he came up with the idea that the god needs sacrifices. Or maybe he was mentally unstable and seeing things which seems less likely since it's known that he doesn't have hallucinations and sees the world the way it is. He defo has STPD, but that's a result of him having this ability, not the reason why he has it

You’re absolutely right. Show don’t tell us perfect for story telling, as is not needing to explain every single power or concept in the show. It breaks the immersion

My theory is that Jashin likely is a rogue Ootsutsuki that's doing his own thing.

Either Jashin is real or Hidan is an X-Men mutant with a unique body similar to other characters such as the Sound 4.

Honestly, Jashin being a genuine god is more likely since there was another worshipper in Boruto. Him being Shibai would actually be a good retcon if it happens. It can tie with Shibai's reflection ability and Hidan's powers being a water down version of it.

I would argue that hee has gotten those powers out of some 'ritual', like the Uzumaki with the reaper death seal and that he has gotten access to it thanks his 'religion'. I'm going to place my bets on this jashin being some spirit out of the same place where summons come from (like the Death Seal, who itself is from a place we don't know much about, which is just as interesting as Jashin itself honestly).

I like the theory that Hidan has a kekkei genkai that makes all of his cells resonate with each other through chakra, so they are all carrying his will at once. And his curse “jutsu” is him making other peoples’ cells resonate with his own based on the blood sample he takes in, and then damage to him reflects on them.

Jashin being an otsutsuki is a fun theory. Maybe Hidan’s immortality is a sort of shinjutsu

These are the kind of views I love this channel for. I'm sure that everyone else would've added a fully organized Jashin cult in their rewrite and ruined the mystery.
Also, your opinion on Gato. Gato is one of the most important villains in the story but people always focus just on Zabuza.

Tbh, my Jashin theory is that he's Hidan's god.

If I'm not mistaken Hidan lead a cult before being recruited into the akatsuki and even in one of the games he tries to convince other akatsuki members to join his religion.

Honestly my opinion is that from the village Hidan is from there were this big cult/religion about Jashin and basically some very rare people inside Hidan clan or family have this kekkei genkai (aka Hidan's ability) and believes that these powers are from the god Jashin.
