My Airplane Parachute Rocket! Unboxing The Shootout Rocket

Here is the missing rocket unboxing video for the Sling TSi airplane parachute. As you see the entire parachute system is made up of the parachute bag and a rocket. Both are installed in the airframe, and when actuated by a pull tab, the rocket fires up from the cabin and then grabs/pulls the parachute as it goes up.

Great video Mike! I would love to see a video breakdown of cost/benefit for the parachute. Cost, lifespan, repacks, etc. I am really psyched for you, the plane is looking great!

I thought the system had a 10 year service schedule, but the parachute says "Do not use after: 12/2025". Has that maintenance schedule changed?

Wait so.. if the parachute deploys, it's holding onto the plane by the cable ties? I'm confused, doesn't the bag need to be anchored better somehow?

A parachute like this, can be useful on an heli? How much it cost? Of course with the mobile wing stopped. Great video, very surprised to see the real thing Thank you

I'd be nervous as hell handling that thing. You're getting close. It won't be long now. I probably should've asked this sooner, but it just popped into my head again. Being that the Sling is an experimental, is there a way to go with a side stick like the cirrus instead.

Simple, but fantastic, idea using a fabric “sling” for future removal of the parachute. Saves problems in the future indeed. Nice vid, thanks.

Wondering if you could explain if the parachute system has any manufacturing ADs for repacking after certain years. I know for experimental aircraft there are none! For SR20 or SR22 you’ve a AD for every 10 years the parachute system needs to be repacked and inspected! Are they any thing like that in your case?

I've been curious about the compartment and skin of the plane - how is it engineered differently such that it will break away and make room for both rocket and parachute to exit? And is there risk of tear or sharp edges on exit?

Shouldn't it be possible to do a system without a rocket... I would prefer a simpler lighter system.
Just has to work, doesn't have to be comfy or elegant. It can come down nose first

It seems like a very short “need to post something” type of video. Still nice to hear from you but that is my personal opinipn

Is it just me or does the guy sound South African

I worry that you, Mr. Ojo the builder, do not understand the systems of the plane that you're building. Jean is a wonderfully knowledgeable guy, but you rely on him a little too much as a knowledge crutch. You "oh" and "wow" reponses to any trivial piece of information Jean tells you is concerning.

Really wish you would edit your videos more. There is a lot of nonsense in your content making your videos longer than they need to be.
