Absolutely loved Classix Nouveau in the 80's couldn't stop playing inside outside. Didn't realize they had new music out so thanks for posting. They were a real inspiration to my own songwriting and I loved Sals vocal tone and the guitar was amazing too. Great band.

I love them, discovered via Rockets for obvious reasons about 20 years ago and still listen to them quite often now at 40.
Curiously, Billy MacKenzie (that you compared to Sal Solo) is my favourite singer ever and I've tries to emulate both in my Sleepdriver project.

Used to love them and still do, i saw Classix Nouveaux at Hala Olivia in Gdańsk on 16 Mar 1984 Poland, i was 18 then young and strong 🙂

Bought La Verite in 1982 and played it regularly for decades. They definitely had their own sound.

They are popular in Poland. Sal Solo put on the cover of his album the painting of Jasna Gora. Also, he recorded San Damiano with a Polish choir. San Damiano is popular during Christmas time although it has nothing to do with it😅.

I saw Mick Sweeney playing once with A Flock of Seagulls for a whole show in Liverpool in 1986. The clip says it was Steadman... I'm positive I saw Sweeney.

I saw them perform at Leeds, Sal was in a one piece silver suit and collapsed and had to be carried off stage before returning 10 minutes later stripped to the waist and still wet through with sweat, I doubt he wore the suit again!
