idols who were considered “fat” in korea

In South Korea, K-pop artists must maintain their body figure based on their country's beauty norms. Skinny, fair-skin, and small faces are just some of the requirements for SoKor's beauty standards. Some celebrities who weren't able to escape the harsh criticism of the public and had experienced fat-shaming have to deal with it on their own.

Netizens were fat shaming Wendy from Red Velvet to the point that she was forced to have a very strict diet and became unhealthily skinny and it was sad to see. No idol should go through that...

the saddest part is that they all look healthy. all of these bodies are, at the most, curvy. i'll admit that i don't know much about k-pop, but it seems like idols get the cruelest treatment ever from their managers and the public :-(

To be fair, Jihyo had slimmed down considerably, despite the fact that she was never fat.

Bruh they were literally not fat they just got them double thicc thighs. The Korean beauty standards are crazy but if they were girl groups down here in the USA they would be getting complimented because if they were really skinny they would probably be getting accused of having eating disorders.

Slight Edit: As long as you're not overweight or underweight, you're fine. Your body image doesn't determine whether you're healthy or not, but your conditions and lifestyle do.

Take care of yourself.

None of these were ‘fat’. They just got natural feminine curves and that’s literally so beautiful, they look completely normal and feminine. Body’s are different and ppl need to realise that

When you realise that people who are called “ fat” in Korea are actually your body goals-
