I once had a teacher who called himself Christian but didn’t believe that there was any fire but that it represented a person’s ”burning” conscience. That’s really twisting it. It’s both. How can one deny what’s right there written in front of your eyes. Some even go as far as to deny the very existence of a horrible place called hell. The worst is that the same people call themselves Christians. Yet Jesus spoke more about hell than He did about Heaven.

Right. We believe God's word, or we don't. I was gonna say, I think that people say those things because they don't believe it. Though, some might say it because they can't fathom literally burning for eternity.
