2% isn’t gonna happen unless you put everything out of business.

He says it over and over 2% inflation. Quit asking stupid questions. There can be no pivot and chance of more hikes should be very high, the rates have to be well above inflation. “There will be pain”. Deal with it.

Remember "inflation is transitory"? Then it was inflation is sticky. Then it was we aren't heading into a recession. Then it was okay we can't avoid a recession. Then it was "the banks are safe". Then two more banks failed. Now its inflation is lowering. I don't know where it's lowering because everything I've had to buy is still at elevated prices with reduced packaging.

So if Fed agrees to a higher number .. say 3% what stops all of these people to ask for 4% or 5% for that matter! 2% is a target and is the target for central banks of all advanced economies!

The interest hike was high that... 2% inflation is basically fully because of the mortgage inflation. Then add up the rest.

Crazy but reducing the rate will easy mortgage inflation, so pushing inflation down.

Issue wasn't consumption but production line.

Higher interest rate is now the reason why inflation is high. High borrowing cost increase price. High mortgage price increase price. High interest cause higher renting cost therefore higher price.

The consumptions isn't that high. But the policy are pushing price high up.

Imagine increasing interest rate to 10%, it will increase inflation at some point. Yes consumption will go down a bit, but it won't overweight the impact of the increase cost that are passed in the price.
