I really enjoy my x6100. I got Spain on 15M with only 10W from Candlestick Park in SF the other weekend.

Hi Mike:
I really appreciate the short, informative and to-the-point videos. There is a lot to be said for a"do-it-all" SSB station that fits in a lunch bag.

Heep the hits coming.

I have the X-6100 and have not played with it until here recently. I was never much of a QRP fan, because the "BIG BOYS" would drown out the 5 watt stations. So recently, I went to 3 locations doing POTA, and I am quite impressed with this little radio. Now I will have to look for an external battery. I carry my kit in a backpack.

Thats my SOTA radio! Really hard to beat. No need to carry an external battery or tuner. Just an endfed antenna and a mast and good to go....anywhere! Great video. Thanks. Pete KD2OMV

I gotta give that radio a try sometime. It seams like it’d be so much fun and fit so easily in a small bag with anything you need.

Hey Mike, great video. I too have been bitten by the small, portable get-up-and-go bug. Struggling to decide if I want to go with a higher end KX2/KX3, or something like an FX-4CR or maybe the Xiegu X6100. I am just starting to learn CW and hope to have the portable setup be my primary CW rig with the option of going SSB or digital. Thanks again for the great content!

Hi Mike, lovely. Far less cumbersome than the 1KW activation. haha 🙂. I own two Xiegu's (G90 and X6100) myself and love them. I'm still struggling to build the K6ARK as I'm really bad at soldering, but a found a friend of mine to do the job. 73 de ON3STG

I bought an x5105 and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with it. I’ve heard stories of people having issues but it seems most of them were purchased used. 🤷‍♂️ I’ve had mine a couple years and nary a problem.

This is very inspiring ❤ Great job! I'm waiting for the new Xiegu radio that they teased recently. If I pass my test next month that is haha 😂

I got a pretty big hard on for the FX4CR, but the 5105 is the runner-up if I end up feeling spendy and can't wait for the FX4CR to come back in stock.

ok 10 minutes to activate the park, great. But how long to polish off the Crown Royal?

All great points Mike!. Hard to argue with such a small kit that will allow you some incredible operating flexibility. Currently I'm using the IC-705 to fill this role but I need to use resonant antennas unless I grab the "second bag" with 9:1, Tuner, patch, etc. I guess the only thing you are missing is some sort of small solar setup to top up the battery. I think a guy like you can find a solution and probably make a video of it! LOL PS: Chris, W0CGC, is so easy to pick out with his booming voice. Looking forward to activating with him again one of these days.
