Great Video! Love the fluke. Love the way you take the time to teach. Just started making how to videos on my channel as well. I’ve been so busy after starting my own company 3 years ago and haven’t had much time to teach. Thanks for the inspiration! Keep going man! You’re bringing value to thousands!

Only test for voltage on a live system! Testing for continuity or resistance on a live system is dangerous and can damage your meter! Check for voltage first before doing the other tests!

In past videos you've called that style of meter a "tester" in contrast to the more typical style without the current probe.

It's worth mentioning that you ALWAYS want to verify 0 volts on a system that might possibly not be air-gapped/locked out tagged, or that you are 100% sure does not have a voltage source before checking continuity!

I want that kind of multimeter. The two-prong reader is amazing instead of needing to feed a wire or cut then soldered, through a looped ampacity meter.

You can also switch over to microfarads and check capacitors as well.

And the #1 problem I have found with Newbie generator techs is that they set the gens to run at 60.00hz this is fine if the utility is at 60.1 or so, If the utility is at 60.00 as well the ATS will fail on a sync fail.
Set the gen to 60.1 or .3. that way the gen will lead the utility and it will sync better.

Good video but I think you should show the settings so we can see what each one looks when we go to select them. ⚡️

It also helps to get a meter thats easy to use, I have the basic field piece i know its an hvac brand but give one a chance and you wont go back its easy to use no confusion on functions just my opinion

They show the difference in voltage between the two probes

Another thing that he didn't mention is you can have a bad fuse and it still rings good just saying. Sometimes it's a defect don't ever trust the ring look at your numbers when you ohm it out

Eres el very simple Fast Way of showing the basics of a meter would be nice to explain why it reads frequencies and what the frequencies are good for a good frequency reading is also very helpful for solar equipment installations you forgot to mention that you can lock a reading or read a inrush current it is a very Incomplete video of all the capabilities of that meter it's more like you were in such a hurry that you just wanted to get one minute of content out there and left more questions than answers, also there is one comment there in regards to the fuse reading fuse reading he is right you have to pay attention to the value numbers of the continuity because sometimes you get a beep and a very low number display I have had scenarios where the fuse is open but because it's damned because it was wet since it was installed in a ground pool box voltage leaks through it so basically you can still get low voltage Going Through the Wire and the meter will give you a false reading doing continuity you have to pay attention to the number value other than hearing a beep all your other videos are always great because you go into detail of explaining I'm sorry to say that this one is just not one of those

That makes sense, but you didn't show which option is which... That's the part I don't really understand

Well you're not going to be able to use that multimeter if you don't have the right safety gear on in front of a three-phase fuse block open dead front I hope it's not hot.

How can I test how clean a pure sine wave inverter or generator is?

Continuity testing is good. But megger is better
