This is music set to poetry, by the great 17th century Saint Naryana Teerath from Guntur in Andhra, in Raagam Neelambari.

Anil Srinivasan, Sikkil Gurucharan Live @ The Peninsula Studios.

Anil Srinivasan (piano), Sikkil Gurucharan (vocals) Amaan Ali ( tabla), Arshad Khan ( Esraj).

This track was recorded and filmed live on 9th November 2012 @ The Peninsula Studios in a single take, in presence of an invited audience, a tribute to the quality of the artists.

This format and treatment makes the recordings @ The Peninsula Studios unique.

This is our modest contribution to take this genre of music to a wider audience and kindle curiosity in our rich literature and poetry.

These great performers worked together to produce a class recording of ten great songs.

This work was done by Avinash Chordia the head of studios, Deepak Samson our recording engineer did the sound and recorded the track , Narinder Tawakley provided logistics support and Shankar was the studio technician.

These tracks were mixed and mastered by Deepak Samson to be published by Universal Music Group as Nokia Music Theatre.

Ananya Rane our head of films created this AV with Ravi Verma assisted by Sameep Tawakley in November of 2012 , it was edited by Ravi and together they brought this album to life.

This presentation is curated and produced by Sita Raina and Subroto Chattopadhyay and the team @ The Peninsula Studios.

Surprising lack of sruthi adherence, rAgA adherence, and layA adherence by Sri Sikkil Gurucharan who is normally exceedingly good in all these areas. I wonder if there was something off with the recording set up itself.
