API QUICK START | Help to cycle a new aquarium

API® QUICK START nitrifying bacteria allows for the instant addition of fish, as it immediately starts the natural aquarium cycle with beneficial bacteria, which converts toxic ammonia into nitrite, then into harmless nitrate to help prevent fish loss in your tank. Best for use when starting a new aquarium, after water changes and filter changes, and when adding new fish to an existing aquarium. Just used this stuff yesterday. Put it in the water in the morning. Tested everything, everything was dead on where it was supposed to be, i also added ph 7.0 let it run all day, and added fish at night. 0 problems today and everything is still perfect.

I just want to comment..this actually saved my tank..
I had a random ammonia spike…
Changed my water then next day it went up…
Went and got a bottle of Quick start, it did lower the ammonia level in my tank.

guys please cycle your tank first its more safer. make sure to monitor your Ammonia and Nitrite by using API master kit

I say cycle the tank for 1 week after you used the quick start then add your fish.

This has worked great for me with smaller aquariums. But when setting up a new 55 gallon and waiting a few hours, I added my fish and within minutes I had New Tank syndrome and my fish started dropping like flies. I lost half of my fish. Luckily I was able to remove a bunch and put them back into the established tank they were in. They were touch and go, but most pulled through overnight. I did a slow intro to the new water in their separate baggies. I really think there needs to be more clear information on timing with the size of your tank to avoid the devastation I experienced last night. 😓

Do I need to added every day until I got the level in the safe way. I start it a new tank and have little ammonia

I set up a new tank a few days ago, and plan to get fish next week (using API Quick Start). Can I add the Quick Start now so the water will be ready, or should I wait until I get the fish, put the fish in and then add Quick Start after the fish are in the tank? Thanks for your help.

Quick Start contains true nitrifying bacteria? How does the bacteria survive in the bottle for month? Why is the food they are eating to keep them survive in a bottle? Hope someone could clarify this as in thinking about it
