you say have thecomputer off at the time... I don't understand, are you creating these virtual environments on a seperate computer or.... what am i missing here?
(IE... You are saying have the computer off...while actually USING IT... from what i can see.... that part is nowhere NEAR clear her )

I deleted the entire checkpoint tree. what happens then? doe the PC stay in the "Now" state? and why are the checkpoints not deleted from the hard drive.

as soon as i created any checkpoint the VM just fails to boot

You did not explain where the actual check points are. what the acual avhdx file are and how they are created etc.

So. I've been told that the Hyper-V checkpoint file will grow in size as the delta from the checkpoint and the Hyper-V machine change. Is this the case? This was the first time that I heard someone recommend to shut down the machine before you checkpoint also. So thanks for that! I'm sure that will save a good deal of space for me!

i have a hyper v vm but its actually using a checkpoint in its daily use, i adopted this and really dont like it thi way surely it should never use the actual checkpoint but use the master vm it is attached to.

Hi. Great effort, but had to stop watching. Your constant mouse pointer movement is nausea inducing. Consider it similar to watching an amatuer video where the person constantly zooms in and out, and is always panning. You know what you're looking at, so your movements are expected by your brain. For some viewers like myself, all that motion is unwatchable if we don't want to eventually lose our lunch. Please use other methods to direct attention, or simply keep the mouse pointer still (or move deliberately from point a to b). If you view some highly polished training videos you'll see such techniques in use.
