Hearing this brings a tear to my eye. The good old days at Shea. As I listen to this in the twilight of my years, I find myself wanting to go home, except I don't know where home is anymore.

The best tune in the entire world! It makes me proud to be a New York Mets Fan!! It is truly from a simpler time in baseball!! I feel when I listen to this, I am transported back to the time of the 1964-1965 New York World Fair with the Unisphere standing proudly in the middle of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. This song for me is truly inspirational and makes me excited to see what is in store and what will happen next!! It is time for METS Baseball!!

One of the BEST moments of the Met’s Old Timers Day game yesterday was when they played a recording of Jane’s National Anthem before the retirees took the field!

You have no idea how long I've wanted to hear this song again. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood for a minute.

I love this song.  I rarely went to Mets games as a kid, but always listened on the radio.  Thinking of Bob Murphy, Lindsay Nelson and Ralph Kiner.

I remember walking into Shea and hearing it. Sounds unbelievable. I don't remember any tune playing when the Mets took the field.

Great woman and great musician. Jane Jarvis gave them musical identity. I was so lucky to have been there in the 1969 heyday. I can still remember sitting with my brother at Shea (usually in the nose-bleeders). Watching the team take the sparkling green field, Harrelson scooping up a toss, firing it over to Kranepool or Clendenon. Seeing the bright clean Mets pinstripes. The sound of that tune still echoes in my memory.

Love this! The song she used to play before the Mets would take the field.

Wow what a memory. The Mets used to take the field at Shea with this song in the background. Jane was a truly incredible musician with lots of songs and albums to her credit.

pretty good sounding thomas, tubes and all. worked for an organ dealer, delivering them, these old organs would be put to rest in a landfill, it cost more to fix and maintain them than buy a new digital organ, but the old tubes just sound better, people still kill for a hammond b-3.

This woman revolutionized baseball in NYC. Her music and organ skills were so endeared and beloved, by Mets fans and visitors alike, that they FORCED the Yankees to install and hire an organ & organist of their very own! She deserves a spot in the Mets Hall Of Fame. Let's go!

I love this piece of music, it reminds me of watching Bud Harrelson taking infield practice at Shea!

Great memory from a time when ballpark music was real, not the loud overpowering canned garbage we listen to EVERY PITCH! WHO WANTS TO HEAR THAT DAY O CRAP EVERY BATTER? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH BASEBALL? Ms Jarvis had a wonderful inventive take on organ music and turning it into something appro po to the game, like playing JOY( the Apollo 100 instrumental) after a big Met rally, or Happy Days Are Here Again after the Mets won to end a losing streak. THAT WAS MUSIC! GOD BLESS YOU, JANE!

The great story about this recording is that Howie Rose back when he was doing the Mets post-game show on WHN-1050 AM reached out to Jane Jarvis and was able to get this and "Meet the Mets" recorded.
