Next SW should consider having Linus/Luke be the "Man in the Chair" working with audience-unknown teammates who do the purchases. They find the deals online, but can't go and finish the deal. I think that might be the right combination of frustrating and dramatic having to rely on others, especially ones inexperienced with hardware.
