My uncle served on the USS Enterprise, very proud of my family

The Enterprise was my first 1/350 scale aircraft carrier. Spend six years building it off and on to her mid 60’s configuration. Even built the hangar deck and both bridges from scratch.

Finally I found someone who does 1/350 scale ships. Once I saw the bow of #1, I guessed correctly. It's one model I've have been eyeballing for a while, but chose to go with a different choice as my first warship, the USS Iwo Jima LHD-7. Before this, I've only done other ships than warships, like Queen Mary 2 1/400 (Revell, old kit) and RMS Titanic 1/700 and currently working on Cutty Sark 1/96 (Revell). Never been a particular fan of warships nor would I consider ever doing them unless I've ran out of choices for ships. Even considering starting with wooden ships to continue doing sailboats, Cutty Sark has ignited my passion for scale models. There are still a few civil ships / sailboats to do before I move to warships.

Most excellent! I had over 100 ships myself back in the 70s on my shelves. Takes me back

Love your collections. As a retired US Navy person i would just add that on any amphibious ship that LCAC's would never be bow out in the welldeck, they always pull in bow in and back out.

Very nice fleet you've put together there. I served on one of the last Perrys in commission. It was probably my favorite ship I sailed on in my time in the Navy. It just felt like a great, little, tight knit community.

I love the USS Oliver Hazard Perry! I served on the USS Rentz FFG 46 and seeing this model brings back good memories.

Love your collection. I’ve built the Tamiya New Jersey, Tirpitz and I still have two Revell platinum kits sitting and waiting to be built...Bismarck and Tirpitz....sadly haven’t had time to model much this year. Looking forward to working on them this Fall/winter. Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection. Thanks! Pat

I’m a formerly-avid model builder. Even joined the ship modeling guild of San Diego, California ...that didn’t pan out. But after a hiatus of almost 2 decades (I’ve deployed ALOT in that time) I have a bit more stable basing and wanting to wade back in again. I’ve just subscribed and am looking forward to this!

Haha, I was working on the air wing for that exact Illustrious model as I was watching! Great vid, and very useful as someone who's only recently gotten into 1/350 ships
