Good video and discussion. I enjoyed it. But, in my opinion, you should not have included the Chevrolet Colorado Z71. The front air dam is removable. And while it does take around 15 minutes to do, once it's done it's done. Forever. As for the side steps, it's an option you don't have to select in the first place. So I can't believe you even brought it up. Come on guys, be fair here. Also, I watched the video where the Z71 was test driven by Nathan and it never failed to do anything. And that was a pretty damn good sized hill at the end. You guys actually have a video up titled "Tested & Reviewed: Top 5 Best Off Road Trucks from the Factory" and you list the Chevy Colorado Z71. What the hell?

You guys should really do a in-depth video of GM, Ford, and RAM HD trucks that includes busting myths. For instance, towing objects/trailers in excess of 50, 000lbs (off highway testing so you don't need a CDL). Basically, see how they handle the size of load a Semi would normally carry. Including what excessive weight looks like over the rear axle. Something similar to what another program did to these trucks. Get a bit more daring with tests. Since most people are extremely brand loyal, we need a Truck Testing company that willing to push the limits a bit.

I'm just glad to see this video on THIS channel. Now if we can get the other off road vehicles off the cars channel that would make more sense.

Great video, guys. I had hoped that the Renegade and Outback would be more capable. Good to know!

I really want to see the new Tahoe with the Z71 package go up cliffhanger 2.0.

Regarding the renegade's drivetrain:
In the manual, there are instructions for exactly the scenario you guys lay out. In such a case, you turn the traction control completely off by holding down the button for 10-15sec. At that point, only the Brake Lock Differential will limit power delivered to the wheels.
That may or may not be enough to get you unstick on a really steep trail, but at least you'll be spinning your wheels.
I understand you test everything in the default setting, but when a manufacturer gives you instructions for specific situations, not taking advantage of that doesn't let you realize the full potential of the vehicle.

Just got done going on an overland group drive in my Jeep Trailhawk, low range and locking rear diff, I was in my stock jeep keep up with all the off road modded Toyota and explores and wrangles on the trails this weekend. with the locking rear end and the 4 wheel low setting never once was i robbed of the power to cross some serious terrain. I had allot of off road bikes and quads wondering how i got it up that trail looking like a little crossover. Give the v6 powered trail hawk a try on Gold mine hill 2.0 bet it will walk right up it.

Man you really called out MT on that one lol! I agree with yall on the fact that no one is taking a 570 off road like they did over on MT.

you guy's should go to Australia or the middle east and test the big 3 pickups for reliability and longevity in extreme heat and very rough roads and see how many repairs they would need to reach 100, 000 miles

Loved your comments about all the new "STUPID TIRES". It shows that people have no idea about whats going on. I was going to make some more comments about that, but realized I said it all already! Great show. I have KO2.s.

I drove by the local Gm dealer and remember seeing the Colorado parked next to a camaro. Both were parked up to a curb, both of them barely cleared the curb and sat pretty damn near as far off the ground. Pretty sad for a Z71 to have the off road capabilities of a camaro.

I agree with you guys when you mentioned how these "SUV's" are no longer that, but are now Crossovers. I used to own a Gen 1 Nissan Pathfinder that would drive over, or through anything. Those days are pretty much gone, unless you get a pick-up truck and mod the hell out of it.

I had an 87 Toyota Tercel wagon, which was normally front wheel drive with all-wheel drive available. I wouldn't take it crawling or mudding (it had a short ground clearance and shopping-cart sized tires), but it was pretty capable for what most people use four-wheel drive for, which is really just to get around in bad weather. I lived in Missouri, at the bottom of a bowl, and I had to go uphill in any direction to get out of my neighborhood. We had heavy snow that year three or four times, and it worked like a champ. Probably because the skinny tires cut through the snow instead of riding on top. Ground clearance wasn't great, but high enough to evade 6 inch snow on the road without plowing, either.

I would love to hear more about a 2016 GMC Acadia, Buick enclave or a traverse awd, off road! Y'all are awesome! Thanks again

The VW Dune would be cool if they put the AWD in it and made it look kind of like an old baja bug. Of course VW AWD probably isn't very rugged, but it would still be pretty cool.

you guys should also do a segment of older truck comparasons. like a mid 80's full size Broncos, Blazers, and Ramchargers or the popular small trucks from then like the 4x4 toyotas, Datsuns, Fords, Dodges, Subaru.

So how about a list of Top 5 cars/trucks that are far more off-road worthy than expected. I would submit the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk to that list, mine did Cliffhanger 1.0 with ease (I have video of this too) and I suspect it could probably do Cliffhanger 2.0 (I intend to take it up there soon).
