Rio Tinto Chief Executive Jakob Stausholm said they had strengthened the operational performance at several sites, which will now replicate across the portfolio. On Friday, Rio acknowledged that the price of exporting iron ore from Western Australia this year would be around 5% more than anticipated. The iron ore price was $US138 per tonne recently as late April.
