If any one of those 3 after Ohtani singles, flies out, or double he'll be the tying run. The chances of Ohtani stealing a base and having 1 of the next 3 batters after him getting at least a single is very high. So you just have to pick your poison.

If Ohtani was on the Angels they would've definitely walked him.
