I just got a 2017 Kia Sportage and although I'm reading the manual cover to cover, it's taking a while and I'm only halfway through. In the meantime I had been wondering how I would unlock my door if the battery ever died in the fob. Great video, perfectly explained and demonstrated.

FYI, this trick works on a 2016 Kia Sportage, as I've just found out. Only difference is the key design. The key lock covers are the same. Thanks for the vid!!

good to find this since i had an issue where the car's battery drained overnight. Even to this day i have no idea why this happened since the battery itself was fine (still charged with no issue), and the car is designed to hard shut off after 5 minutes of locking. At the time i was not able to find a way to get in since there is no visible keyhole anywhere on the car without knowing this.
