We've got the survival basics covered and we've returned from our first expedition, but it sure is rough out there. In the third episode of this series, we'll take some time to build up our combat skills and look at two different melee strategies for the club and the spear.

This video is current for 0.G, but if you're playing on experimental, there have been some changes relevant to this video: Namely, you can no longer practice melee to 3 without a book. You can practice from 0 to 1 to get your first point for free (and you should do this) but after that you will need to learn in combat, be taught by an NPC, or get the next practice recipe via a relevant book.

Wow, this is so helpful! I might actually play this game. It's always seemed so obtuse and intimidating. Dwarf Fortress is in the same boat, so if you have any interest in covering that game I think your format would really fit it.

EDIT: You were right, I was wrong. There are two feints. One unarmed, one armed.

A minor mistake I noticed - Feint says that it only procs when the player is unarmed. Other than that, great video. I never thought about stunning as a tactic for bash weapons, but yeah, that would give them a niche. I tend to stick to knives and dex builds for my characters, so learning about bash like this is great.

Maybe a sort of "What to do when..." series?
What to do when surrounded, what to do when you have more loot than you can carry, that kind of thing.
You could also do the basics of farming or cars.
