$500/ month is a side hustle. Whomever is saying that as an insult is just strange. Keep killing it. 🎉

December is always my highest dividend month. I'm hoping to break 2k.

$215, 000 invested in CD’s giving 5% would yield $900 monthly. Which would be $10, 800 a year. I’m currently on $205, 000 in CD’s and just starting to look into what you’re doing. I see advantages to both so I’ll likely keep $100, 000 in cds and $105, 000 into diversified etfs

Curious what your portfolio showed AFTER December’s stumble coupled with dividends. Forget not that you are paying taxes on these dividends and income (yearly), unless it is a tax sheltered account. Something that people don’t always account for. As you grow income ( both earned and cap gains/dividend) you need to protect from pushing into a new higher tax bracket!

Interesting vid as always! Would you do a video comparing SCHD to DGRW to talk about the merits of both? I personally think DGRW suits dividend growth better. Keep up the great work!

Did you already pay tax on those dividends? For example on the average monthly dividends of 518 usd?

Would you consider doing a video comparing dividend growth investing to pure growth investing?

I’m currently 20/80 in SCHD and SCHG, with a $170k taxable portfolio and another $60k in my Roth IRA (tax-free, all SCHG). I’m focused on growth now and plan to shift to dividends later.

This year, SCHG’s 40% gain far outpaced SCHD’s 27%, giving me an extra 13% to eventually sell and invest in dividends. (Even if SCHD’s 3% dividends compounded to add 5%, SCHG still wins by 8%.)

I wish I had the time to research dividend growth stocks like you do, but I need a more passive approach.

Still, a 40% gain with built in diversification and no extra effort is pretty good, right? :D I’d love to hear your take on this!

In your opinion what would be better when starting off reinvest the dividends back into the same stock or invest all dividends into a new stock so that new stock is only funded by dividends

new to investing by why not make contributions into agree realty or agnc or real estimate to get monthly dividends to make it more livable, living on dividends on a quarterly basis seems difficult?

Newbie question. Do you add the return from a dividend stock to the growth to get the yield percentage? So let’s say a stock grew 15% and your dividend stock grew 11% with a 4% payout. Would the dividend stock return also be 15%?

Nice spreadsheet, is it free to download?

O is good if you want monthly income. Keep in mind though that REITs don’t get qualified dividend tax rates, they are taxed at ordinary income tax rates.
