You forgot to say what the diameter of the m3 drill should be, I think somebody thinks ohh let’s drill a 3mm hole. Wd 40 is not an oil it’s for cleaning purpose.

An angle grinder may damage the hardness of your linear rail. A 32tpi saw blade should do the trick

im glad you are passionate about the mod but this is a huge waste of time and money. that printer will never wear out the original chromed rails in the machine, there is simply not a substantive loading scenario to really drive any wear. this machine will be upgraded (replaced) by most users before wear could even be measured on the chrome rods.
