Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Windforce RATTLING FAN NOISE FIX

This mod reduces 90% of the rattling noise from the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Windforce cards.

All you hear now is a tiny throttling rattling of the fans. But that must be a firmware update from Gigabyte

Tried other solutions before and ended up returning my Gigabyte 1660ti for a replacement card. 2 months later, the exact same noise was back. Just tried this and it's completely solved the noise! My card is now silently purring like a kitty, and not like an electric toothbrush thrown into a blender. Massive thanks and props to you for a concise and helpful video!

this solution was a bit tedious but highly effective. (the cutout ties kept falling on the heatsink when aligning under so I just placed it across (no one's gonna inspect in anyway lol) tested the fan speeds of 80-90 in afterburner and no fan rattling at all! Thanks so much. my 2060super windforce is back to normal.

It rattles way less often and when it does, its like 10-20% of the noise of before so its definitely a big win. 10/10 video especially since it doesnt take forever and gets straight to the point. Thanks!

Absolute hero, tried this with the cut up zip tie and works like a dream, used to get really bad fan rattle at 86+ fan speed but now it’s absolutely quiet. Thank you!

Took forever to put the fans back on without a magnetic screwdriver but this fixed the issue! I've been playing games at the lowest settings for the past 6 months due to that noise but it's completely gone now. Thank you!

thank you so much, this was THE solution to the problem. You don"t even need to fully remove the fans, just unscrew them so you can slide pieces of rubber under the metal frame. I used peices of rubber from an old bicycle inner tube, there's 0 rattling anymore now :)

Mines a 5500 XT but same kinda cooling shroud, this fixed the rattling at ~60-70% fan speed

Amazing fix thanks a lot. 2070 is no longer vacuum cleaner. I used tweezers to place 2 small zip ties like you did and it works didn't even remove the fans. No noise even at 1900RPM at 66C.

Thanks a lot man, i did this after cleaning it and the rattling is totally gone.
I was about to spend 30 bucks in a fan kit because I suspected bad fan bearings or something but this solved it for free.

Thanks, this still works on the 3080. Just unscrewed the fan that was making the rattling sound and added the zip tie spacers. Now it doesn't sound like a dying hard drive!

Your a freakin life saver I have a 6 month old 7600xt and it started making a noise randomly and I thought the fan was going bad it was driving me crazy I was literally about to order used fans and replace them I’m super glad I came across this video 😅
