Oh wow that's really cool indeed hahaha he looks quite at home in the filter don't he hahaha and I'm guessing there is plenty of food in there for him .... I'd list get an old nylon stocking and place it over your outtake ... glad you rescued him he's cute 🤗

wow good job getting that fry out of the filter. maybe you could put a sponge over the intake or a very fine net bag like the ones used to put fitler media in. good video.

Hi after having the same problem with a platy fry I from that time on untill I bought a sponge that is avalible for the end of your water intube for youe filter wich sucks the smallest fry up, I basicly wrapped a cut piece of baking fine cloth used for hanging yogert to get the liquid out.I believe you can but it in any baking store possibly a dollerstore.I even thought of possibly a piece of a nylon with an elasic to hold it on.I used this for at least 6 months or more till I found the foam sponge that fits on the end of the filter tube itself. You have to put in a bowl of aquarium water and squeeze out the dirt and food every month or so as you would clean your back filter anyway`s.The foam tip cost around $5.00 canadian in my local fishstore and it was from aquaclear or fluval wich is basicly the same anyway.I had to get a bottom black ballance piece as well which I don`t even remember when it could have been lost, didn`t change anything and that piece was closer to $8.00 wich in my oppinion was robbery since when I bought my aqua clear 50 I still have the box and directions with the lifetime garranty wich they don`t honer anymore.I`ve had to replace the u shape tube that goes from letting the water into the filter because it cracked wich I had taped for years and let my partner help me clean once and he ended up breaking it, so even though my filter is over 30 years old and has had some parts replaced I can honestly say that it`s worked on a 50 gallon tank with up to 100`s of platy`s and molly`s and is still working great.I never take my mother fish and separate them as I think there stressed anough just being in labour so they have there fry and I always end up with 10 to 20 that survive. The molly`s as of latley are starting to get on my nerves. My tank was starting to become overpopulated and the male molly`s are like horny boy`s who never stop to the point they were outnumbering my females so by 8 to one my female molly`s are all gone know leaving just the fry and at least 30 males, to the 6 or 7 females that were all dead.I want to get rid of all the adult males I have and start fresh with the fry that are growing know. But what I find is they survive just fine.

I know its abit late but i have had this problem before and i brought a cover for it that is used in shrimp tanks. Its a wire mesh about the same size holes that yiu would use to break up flour as you were making bread.

you could place a piece of "fine holed", if that's even a word, sponge over the filter like a sponge filter would work
