About Cian: In Irish mythology, Cían (Irish pronunciation: [kʲiːən]), nicknamed Scal Balb, was the son of Dian Cecht, the physician of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and best known as the father of Lugh Lamhfada. Cían's brothers were Cu, Cethen, and Miach.

Cían was slain by the Sons of Tuireann, for which Lugh demanded various treasures around the world as éraic (compensation), according to the account in the "Book of Invasions" (Lebor Gabála Érenn, LGE) as well as the late romance version "The Fate of the Children of Tuireann".

Its more “Kee-in” fast, so it’s far more common to run it together pronounced like “Keen.”

It’s more “Keen” than “Kee-an” . “Kee-an” is what a non Irish person living in Ireland would say

My grandparents are originally from ireland...moved to Liverpool. Mines Cîan - pronounced See-Ann. I get called all sorts Kian, Keen, Siãn 🙈

IT IS NOT KEE AN, not close... Good attempt but no... Key-nn is closer, or Key-un, or Key Inn... a LOT of people say Keen (wrong) or Kane (completely, obviously wrong.) Very like Ian but rolling 'K' into the ian...(Irish name- there is no 'K' in Irish alphabet so C is hard like K in an Irish name/word... ie Cian is not See-un as some might guess... the C is more K like to an English speaker
