I have a theory as to why these coaches start players like Davion when one of their starters is out. It's because of politics/seniority. A player with more experience might feel entitled to be the next one up, and the coach might feel bad starting someone with less experience. When Quickley is healthy, Darko can get away with making Shead the first PG off the bench because it's not a noticeable move as choosing someone to start at PG.
