People in this comment section are missing the point. Louis is saying that even if it is valid to describe it using the word cult, it's unhelpful to do so before you've started an investigation as it antagonises you from the Scientologists, who are actually just ordinary people who have been misled as Theroux has been trying to show, and obstructs the open-mindedness which is vital even towards something you know a lot about. If you conduct yourself by marching towards Scientology buildings calling everyone there a lunatic, you're not going to get very far.
Imagine if he said "I knew it was a cult before I started and no, I didn't change my mind." Also, religion and cult aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

What the hell is going on? This is the first I've heard of this whole debacle. Louis is documenting them, and they're documenting him. What the heck is going on?

Nobody seems to be able to get a hold of this film. Not even a trailer after so many months on the circuit. Is there a reason why? Also, I saw on twitter that Louis is still promoting it. This is all so strange.

The trailer from this documentary has now been released...check it out.  It is WELL WORTH watching.  Not good pr for the scientologists.  Google my scientology movie.
