"Maya, did you forgive yourself?" anybody else clinch their chest at that line?

Maya wanted Cory to be wrong, because she felt that she had to forgive her father and she knew she couldn't at that point in time. When instead, Cory realized that the whole time, Maya was secretly angry with herself, thinking that she did something to cause Kermit to leave. THAT'S why Maya broke down. She realized that the person Cory wanted her to forgive was herself. And that is a brilliant lesson. That was almost Feeney-esque.

This actually made me cry. This episode was so intense and the lesson in this episode is so important. I loved it when she went to Cory. it showed that even though her biological father wasn't there. Cory and Shawn were there to be like fathers to Maya.

I LOVE Cory and Maya scenes where the dynamic is father and daughter.

See this is what Disney channel should be. Showing realistic stories and helping kids understand that this happens. Disney channel is going back to its roots with this show and it's amazing.

I can't possibly be the only one who sees Cory as her dad instead of Shawn right? I mean I can't be. Shawn is there for her now. Cory has been there for her since she was seven. When she had no one to dance with for the father-daughter dance it was Cory who held out his hand for her instead of his own daughter. He's been by her side for everything. In my eyes, Shawn may be like a grown and relatable friend or mentor, but Cory is her dad.

When Maya goes to hug Cory, you can see her mom in the background with a pained expression. What a great actress this team had.

"Crying isn't sign of weakness. It's sign of being strong for too long".
-Hopefully I will get to know who said those brilliant words

"Maya, did you forgive yourself?"
And it was here that I cried until I dehydrated... not only for her but because I identified so much with the situation...

My dad left us when I was 5 and my sister was 3. He had issues with drinking and couldn't keep a job and he thought we were better off. after that he was in and out of my life quite a few times. Fortunately my mom is one of the most positive compassionate witty and hard working people I know. She worked 3 minimum wage jobs just to make sure we never had to live in a dangerous area. She never complained about being tired and would wake up early to make fresh healthy meals for us to warm up for break fast lunch and dinner since shes was rarely home. She always hugged and kissed us every day and never yelled at us or anything. but being an angsty teen of course I didnt appreciate it or realize how lucky I was as much as i do now. when your young you think everyone is supposed to have a loving mom and dad that does everything for you so you don't really appreciate all the things they do for you because you just think its supposed to be that way. but they are people, with real lives, emotions and flaws who are just trying to do the right thing. At the time all I could see was that I lived in poverty, moved so much that I didnt have any friends and was always bullied, never got to see my mom and had a dead beat father. there were some good times. he was charming and funny goof ball who was an amazing song writer. he felt plenty guilty for what he did to us. but he had so many demons(from his bad childhood) that eventually won. drinking certainly didnt help. any ways. I was lonely, angry and suicidal. I blamed him for all of my problems for a long time. but the anger was consuming. It was killing me. Hating him wasn't going to change anything. I knew that if i didnt let it go that I could never be happy and I was tired of being miserable. forgiveness is not saying that what the person did was ok. its saying that you will no longer be held a prisoner of this hate. this pain. life is so unpredictable. you never know when things could change. all you can do i be grateful for what you have while u have them. i am 23 and today I have a great mom and sis and 3 best friends that are like sisters, a car and good job and about to graduate college. someone once told me that "if you never have the perfect home or family, that would not be the tragedy of your life. if you never realized how lucky you were, that would be the tragedy of your life." Maya is so lucky and I hope she finds her peace too.

Man as a fan of Boy Meets World, I never thought I would enjoy this. I've never been more proud to be wrong. Definitely going back to binge watch season 1 and 2

No matter how many times I watch this scene I can't help but to cry. I've watched at least five times and started. Bawling my eyes out each time. I've never had a show do that to me. Good job acting on this one Sabrina, it really touched me and hit close to home <3
