Have you ever had a problem with your printer? 😂

This week my printer was being temperamental as I was completing and printing a bank reconciliation… which inspired this tip 🤗

In this video, I’ll walk you through how to reprint a bank reconciliation in case it got missed the first time. (Or maybe you need another copy.)

➡️ Steps to Reprint a Bank Reconciliation:

Go up to “Reports”
“Banking”
“Previous Reconciliations”
“Select Previous Reconciliation Report’ screen will show
Choose “Account”
“Type of Report”
Summary
Detail
Both
“In this Report Include”
Transactions cleared at the time of reconciliation.

➡️ (Report is displayed as a PDF file)

Transactions cleared plus any changes made to those transactions since the reconciliation.
Click “Display”
Click “OK”

Can you change the orientation of a previous reconciliation? For our bank rec the pdf is always turned landscape, when all the others are portrait. I've changed it in printer setup but it still always does it when our bookkeeper does the reconciliation.

Thank you for the information. Question. Is there a way I can generate a report of all the reconciliations of a year in QB Desktop?

I have QB 2008. After completing a bank rec a report automatically prints which I do not need. How do I turn this feature off?

This doesn't work very well in QB 2018 because the report includes any subsequent entries. So if I'm printing reconciliations from last year for an audit, all of this year's checks & deposits show up as uncleared (at the time of the reconciliation period)/ Anyone have an idea how to avoid this other than doing the entire reconciliation over again?

Edit: Quickbooks answer to this is to undo the last reconciliation. So if you need to go back 12 months, according to QB, you'll need to re-reconcile.

I realize this video is old and you may not be able to answer this questions. By this time, 2021, you would think that QBDT would be able to perform what I'm asking I'm in QBDT accountant's version 2021. Why can't I go back to ANY reconciled month? I'm performing end of the year adjustments and closeouts. I'm no longer have access to previous hard copy source documents. I need to rely on online bank statements and QBDT. Bank statement says a transaction was NOT canceled through the bank. QBDT says that it was. End of the year reconciliations between the two are perfect. No problems. I need to see when and where the past QBDT was reconciled. How do I do that within the qbdt software?
