Touhou Reverse Identity ~ Soundtrack

Reverse Identity was a touhou fangame I was working on in 2022, instead of playing as someone who tries to solve an incident, this time you would play as the ones who cause it.

The story was set around Sky and her two yokai maids (Zoi and Efy). They came to Gensokyo from another dimension to collect "spring" because with enough of it maybe they could heal Sky's mother who was sick for a while and nothing seemed to work.

Prologue

Sky had a father who was a doctor and could cure almost all diseases. But one day he left because he had to help one of his friend's daughter so they traveled abroad leaving his wife and daughter behind. Years passed and Sky (his daughter) studied hard to become a doctor just like him. She seemed to be doing pretty well being able to cure some very rare illnesses until one day her mother became ill and no matter what she tried she couldn't help her. With her father absent there seemed to be no hope for her. But one day a "witch" named "Kirky" payed them a visit. She was very weak and Sky accepted her and helped her recover. To pay her back for her help, Kirky told her about Gensokyo and how she could find "energy" there that could help her cure her mother. She also taught her how to travel there and come back. After some consideration, she and her two maids (who are also her best friends and grew up together) decided to travel to that distant world.

Game Story (Stages 1-6)

Sky was a human unlike the other two who are yokai so they left sky in a safe place to wait while Zoi and Efy (the two playable characters travel to collect "spring". (Zoi gets confused as being a maid from the scarlet mansion and Efy kidnaps Reisen because she said she is a doctor). Eventually they are found by Reimu, Alice and Marisa (R.A.M.) who they somehow manage to beat (if the player has collected enough spring otherwise its a game over).

Extra Stage

Here you play as Reimu, Alice or Marisa, who after loosing they decided to follow the two maides for a rematch. Soon they find their hideout and meet sky who realises that Zoi and Efy can't beat them because they are focused on protecting her. Kirky taught her one last thing before she left, how to become a yokai if she ever had to come to that. And that's what she did. In a moment she consumed a potion that turned her into a beast yokai like the other two. This gave her incredible power but she doesn't have any battle experience so her danmaku is weird. In the end, she uses all her strenght to beat them up. But it was not enough... The trio (R.A.M.) beat all three of them and thats when they explain to them the reason they collected "spring". Thankfully, the trio (R.A.M.) shows sympathy towards them and promises to let them return to their world with the "spring" they collected as long they promise to never come back. They agree and so they return to their world.

Bad Ending

*Every time you get hit you loose some "spring", if you clear the ex stage with less "spring" than 10.000 you get this ending.

Sky and her maids return home but it is too late because her mother has already passed away. Now there is nothing that can bring her back.

Good Ending

Sky and her maids return home in time to save Sky's mother. Thankfully, the method Kirky taught them worked and her mother was finally cured! Everyone is happy for the outcome and they have a party to celebrate!
